The main reason seems to be that the  weather god abandoned our sportsmen.  Various events had to be cancelled, because just on these days it either rained or was stormy.  Nevertheless, it was  noticable that a lot of training was going on in individual teams and that during the few fine days even some events were held.\r\n\r\n[;] I now want to give you a short resume about sport in the last month:\r\n\r\n[;] Football:\r\n[;] As usual football was the most frequent of sport events.  The following games are worth to be mentioned especially:\r\n                                              Fathers against sons  0 : 0\r\n\r\n[;] On 1st September a team of gentlemen over 35 years played against the eleven of the 'sons' under 20 years.  This game was watched with much interest in the camp and the number of spectators was accordingly large.  Despite the greatest efforts by the 'sons' the game ended  0 : 0.\r\n                                \"D.S.C. 1 against \"D.S.C. II : & : 1     (1 : 1)\r\n\r\n[;] After a two-week games break a contest took place between I. and II. team of our local sports club on 15th September.  Only when the game was nearly finished the attackers of team I found their rhythm and were able to secure victory 7 : 1.\r\n\r\n[;] The high point of Brockenhurst's playing season was the handball and football match of two camp teams in the 'D.S.C. stadion:\r\n                                                               \"Nerclose against D.S.C.   0 : 6  (0:1)\r\n\r\n[;] During the first half of the match the guests were very dangerous and only because of the failure of  their left flank they did not succeed.  Beautiful goal chances on both sides were neglected.  With just 1:0 in the lead, sides were switched.  Playing with the wind the attackers of the D.S.C. scored several times.  According to their performance two or three goals our guests ought to have scored.  The \"Nescloser\" team played fairly and quietly.\r\n                                              \r\n\"S.V. Hamstead against \"D.S.C.\"  3: 3  (2:2)\r\n\r\n[;] Our Hampstead handball return match was a lively affair right from the beginning.  Tensely and involved the many spectators followed the course of the hard fought match.  Both goalkeepers excelled with marvellous reactions and induced the spectators to give several spontaneous applauses.  The game was evenly balanced with a 2:2 score, then they switched sides.  In the second half the match became ruthless.  Both teams achieved another goal.  Until nearly the end it stood 3:3.  Despite the greatest efforts from both sides no victory goal was shot.  Several times  the umpire intervened and in the end he was forced to terminate the match.\r\n\r\n[;] Due to lack of time the intended tabletennis tournament of the camp \"Newclose\" against \r\n                                                                2\r\n\"D.S.C.\" could not be played.  Maybe this game can be played in this month.\r\n                                                               \r\nTabletennis \r\n\r\n[;] The tabletennis tournament - running for some time already - for the camp-cup was finally completed.  After a wonderful finale between Pilnick, Bennert, Stiebing and Dr. Drescher, Bannert - because of his surprise victory over Pilnick - bacame  the overall victor and consequently master of the olympics.\r\n", "transcription": "na"}}]
