A circular pit, 3ft in diameter and covered with flints was found in the centre of the barrow. Within the pit was a smaller pit containing a cremation with a bronze awl and two pygmy vessels (2-3). The barrow was excavated in July and August 1953 by N. Thomas. A second pit was found SW of centre and in a small pit within it a cremation was found, unaccompanied.
