Day of Bognor Regis, immediately after sub-soiling\r\nAfter the crop had been removed a small excavation was undertaken in October 1982 on the precise site .... this revealed that the hoard had originally been placed in a small pit about 20 cm in diameter and this survived to a depth of a little over 10 cm in the underlying clayey-brickearth.\r\nThe pit contained fragments of bronze (6) and green bronze mould being all that survived of the hoard in situ ...
