Hewat Craw excavated two cists - A & B - which lay exposed at the edge of the Brouch an Drummin Gravel Pit. These cists were close to a third Cist - Cist C - which had been opened in 1910 by Professor Bryce but had been found to contain nothing but bones. Cist A contained fragments of bones and some teeth, a jet necklace ( ) and a flint knife ( ) with fragments of charcoal ( ) & ochre ( ).
