The first four burials were uncovered before the site came under J.M. Davidson's surveillance, while work in the quarry continued. At least 34 burials were found. Conditions were unfavorable for bone preservation but where skeletal remains did survive both inhumations and cremations were represented. The bronze knife-dagger (1) was Found on a stone, said by the quarry foreman to mark a burial (Site 4), many traces of discoloured and decomposed matter having been found. A polished flint adze (17) was found in a cist (Site 1) but no bones were noted by the foremen. A Food Vessel (2) and the base of another were found together (Site 2) but no further details noted by the foremen. Site 3 contained 4 burials in two layers under a cairn, all unaccompanied. A food Vessel (4) was found on N. periphery of a pear-shaped stone setting (Site 5) but no human remains noted. In Site 6 part of a rim of a Food Vessel (5) was noticed only after much sand had been removed by the contractors and no details of grave or human remains noted. A Food Vessel (6) was found in a small horse-shoe shaped stone structure (Site 7). Carbonised contents of the pot were later analysed and found to contain a substance, possibly originally liquid, based on a cereal such as wheat or oats. Several frags of crude red pottery (7) found in a saucer shaped depression (Site 10) containing sand discoloured by decomposed black matter. Frags of a cinerary urn (8) were found with a heap of cremated bones and a segmented faience bead (16) in Site 13. Many small potsherds were found in the surrounding natural and in the sand below the cremation (13). Fragments of another Cinerary urn (9) were found with flint & lignite tools etc (21) in Site 15. In Site 16 frags of a cinerary urn (10) and a tiny flint flake (22) were found with a probable cremation. A small sherd belonging to a large vessel (11) was found with remains of an inhumation and two lignite beads (14-15) in Site 9. Some of the bones were stained green possibly by contact with some small bronze object which had disintegrated. A small sherd of pottery (12) were found with a few minute bone fragments in sand cleared from a small ring cairn (Site 17). Below the ring cairn a short cist was discovered containing another sherd (12). In Site 11 an extended inhumation with the skull missing was found with a piece of burnt flint (19). A burnt skull was found nearby. A small flint implement (20) was found with the remains of an inhumation under a small cairn (Site 12).
