Carrington opened one of a pair of barrows on the summit of a hill S.W. of Elkstone. A crouched inhumation had been placed on the floor of the barrow with a stone placed lengthways on each side of the skeleton. In the earth above this inhumation a bronze awl (1) was found, also some flints (2) two animal teeth and pieces of animal bone, burnt and unburnt (3).
