Grimes. A central burial pit beneath the barrow contained a cremation which had been deposited with a quantity of wood. The cremation was accompanied by a flanged axe (1) and a tanged chisel (2) and a small knife (3) could be seen in outline at the time of excavation but powdered rapidly within a short time of finding. A fourth bronze implement (4) was too corroded to be identifiable. Also accompanying the cremation were a pygmy cup (5) two sandstone arrowshaft straighteners (6-7), Thirteen barbed and tanged arrowheads (8-20), a convex flint scraper (21), a plano-convex flint point (22), three triangular flint points with convex sides (23-25), three small oval flint implements (26-28) and two flint flakes (29-30).
