Maryon. On the rock surface below the barrow patches of greasy, greyish clay were observed near the centre of the barrow. They were in a position that a body might have occupied but no skeletal material was found. Near theses patches of clay were found a gold earring (1) a crushed pottery vessel (2) thought by (a) to be a Food Vessel but identified by (c) as a Beaker, a barbed and tanged arrowhead (3) flint cores & worked flakes (4) a whetstone (5) a sandstone rubber (6) a nodule of iron pyrites (7) a sherd of coarse pottery (8) and some charcoal.
