A fragment of metal cake (15) was also found, \"50 yards from the axe\".\r\nIn March 1952, in cutting a trench for an electricity cable, 35 ft south of where the axe was found, and in subsequent excavations by R. Rainbird Clarke, the main hoard was found in Peckover Road. This consisted of eight socketed axes (8 of 1-11) as these finds are undifferentiated in NCM 62.952), a facetted socketed axe (14) a sword blade fragment (13) and a socketed chisel (12). Two further socketed axes (among items 1-11) were found 30 yds W. of the main hoard. In 1953, in the garden of 13 Peckover Road (which backs on to the house in Norgate Road, a spearhead (16) and a fragment of metal cake (17) were found.
