Near the top of the mound was a flat stone. \"Mr M' Donald, the grieve at Drummond, happened one morning to strike this stone with a walking stick, and observing that a hollow sound was emitted, he had the stone removed. It turned out to be the coverstone of a cist containing and unaccompanied inhumation. This discovery led to a search for more graves on the mound and another cist was found 24 yds to the S. of the first cist. Cist two contained a crouched inhumation with a Food Vessel (2) lying on its side with its mouth close to the mouth of the skeleton.
