Duff Esq., of Eddertown House, noticed the upper part of \"a small and very rude Urn\" (2) under a slab disturbed by one of his ploughs on the southern slope of a gravelly knoll called Torran Dubh near Eddertown House. Beneath the slab a cairn of stones was found lying upon two large sandstone slabs. These covered a cist filled with gravel and sand which when riddled yielded several small fragments of burnt bone, part of two human teeth, pieces of charcoal ( ) and a broken bronze \"pin\" (1).
