The barrow was destroyed by means of a \"horse scoop\" employed by a company of Canadian Engineers. The dagger (1) was said to have been found with some fragments of burnt bones in a shallow depression in the old ground surface beneath the centre of the barrow. The upper portion of a cinerary urn (2) and the base of another (3) were said to have been found \"not far below the surface\".
