Locus only exposed at dead low water, lies c. 20 m upstream of the pier for now-defunct Nine Elms Cold Store. All this tallies with SN's observations during a site visit 14/7/93.\r\nPeat-stained animal bones and a couple of struck flints picked up (but not kept) on the forshore in close proximity. Also much later material on foreshore surface (including tanged iron knife). Rylance stated that both were sticking down into mud at an angle (SN found a bone thus also) ; neither had shaft portions present.
