The bronzes lay 3' 6\" below the surface. The hoard was dispersed after discovery. Mr Row (reference a) purchased Items (1-5) and Item (11), which he presented to Guildford Museum. He was given to understand that these objects represented the whole of the hoard but subsequently learned that a socketed gouge (Item 6) and four further socketed axes (7-10), which were part of the hoard, were in private possession. All these are known from drawings except Item (10) which Mr Row was unable to persuade the owner to let him see.
