As at 1975 it had not been possible to obtain from the finder details of the exact findspot, as to examine it to determine whether the whole hoard had been recovered. That the bronzes were, in fact, associated, is supported by their condition as received. Not only was their state of corrosion identical but also similar peaty material adhered to them and filled the socket of the axe.
