The farmer did not at first recognise the importance of the find and the objects were left lying about and became dispersed. Five of the implements (1-5) were acquired by the National Museum in 1905. Item (6) was acquired by the Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow (? when). Item (7) is said to be in a private collection in Wigtownshire\r\nAnother palstave (8) not certainly belonging to this hoard, although said to be \"part of a hoard\", probably from Caldonshill, passed into the Mann collection (?
