Parke. The awl (1) was found with the bead (2) with one of two cremations in circular pits below primary mound. There were three secondary cremations under inverted urns (3-5), two of which were inserted into the primary mound & the third laid on the chalk between the inner & outer berms on S. side of barrow. A fourth cremation lay in a pit cut through the secondary mound, with a sherd of New Forest ware (6) and a coin of Valentinian I in filling (7). Five segmented glass beads (8) were found in the secondary mound (? Belgic) and a mass of Roman pottery (9) was found in an ancient field bank cutting into the barrow ditch on the N.E.", "FindAltSiteRel": "Alt.
