Topsoil stripping by machine disturbed a quantity of human bones and parts of two Beakers. Site workmen collected these, noted the area from which they derived and contacted Dorset County Museum. Rescue excavation followed under the direction of P.J. Woodward. About 5 sq. metres was cleaned and a shallow, sub-rectangular pit was defined, with parts of an inhumation laid within the surviving fill.
