Cunnington. The primary inhumation was in a cist at the bottom of a grave-pit below the barrow covered by a capstone. This was unaccompanied. The pit was filled with chalk & stones to the original surface level and then covered by a cairn. Within the body of the cairn the following objects were found : a bone dagger-pommel (7), a perforated stone hammer (8), a two-edged flint saw (10) a ground stone axe (11) and a small sandstone tablet (12). Also a small piece of pottery (13) several flint scrapers (14) and a bone needle (14). The bones and teeth of an ox (lost) were also found, and a bone of a large bird (lost). Above the cairn was a secondary inhumation accompanied by a dagger (1). Three feet south of this burial was a cremation (unaccompanied). Above these burials were two \"stone floors\" separated by a layer of stones about a foot thick.
