Selby and G. Kirk, before being removed to widen the road. The barrow contained a primary crouched inhumation (unaccompanied) in an oval grave beneath old turf line, and a deposit of the bones of a child beneath the primary mound. (i) Secondary crouched inhumation inserted into primary mound, with the remains of an awl (1) and object of wood (2). This burial probably disturbed and earlier burial, (ii) as parts of a beaker (3) and human bones were found in the filling of the grave of (i). There was another crouched inhumation (iii) unaccompanied inserted from the secondary into primary mound and above this a crouched inhumation (iv) with a Dorset Vase Food Vessel (4) inserted from secondary to primary mound. A cremation (v) was found under an inverted Enlarged Vase Food Vessel (5) covered by a flint cairn, and another cremation (vi) was found with an upright Dorset Vase Food Vessel (6) and six blue segmented faience beads (7). A further cremation (vii) was found beneath an inverted collared urn (8).
