It is reported that there were signs that the barrow had previously been dug into. In the central pit under the barrow small fragments of burnt bone and wood charcoal were found. Adjoining this pit was a paved area, on a level with the top of the central pit. Under and between the stones of the paved area, burnt bones and charcoal were found. Two feet and foud feet above the paved area, a fragment of bronze (1) was found. These were too fragmentary to determine their original form. It is further observed that as this part of the barrow was riddled with rabbit-holes it is also impossible to say whether or not this was their original location.
