An extended inhumation - represented by a stain only - had been laid in a long structure with posts at each corner. There were traces of horizontal timbers set inside the posts. The position of undisturbed packing-stones in two of the post-holes showed that the posts at head and foot of the burial had been inclined inwards at an angle of 60\u00b0 implying a gabled structure c. 3ft high. Traces of a wooden pole lay beside the body.
