Bateman while opening a barrow near Wind Low, west of Hargatewall. In the centre a large capstone was found, covering a pit 3ft deep neatly walled round with flat stones. A contracted inhumation lay at the bottom of the pit with a dagger (1) behind the skull. Near it were two \"instruments of flint\" (2). At the top of the grave, beneath the capstone a few sherds of a coarse urn (3) were found with some calcined bones.
