The barrow had been much mutilated by the removal of a large quantity of stones at the time of the enclosure of the common land (c. 1826), when \"if the report be true\" two celts of bronze were found. The remaining part of the mound proved to be undisturbed rock slightly covered with stones and soil amongst which were found two skeletons, one male and one female. The former lay close to the turf, and was much decayed and broken ; the latter lay deeper, on the surface of the rock.
