Ref (b) reports that the spearhead was found at about the time of the Inclosure Act, near a tumulus or cairn which formerly stood between 60 and 70 yds from the highway leading from Troutbeck to Kirkstone ... \". Ref (c) quoting from an address given by Cornelius Nicholson to the Kendal Natural History Society's Institute, on 7 December 1838, reports that : \"A British spearhead was found some years ago at this spot\" (i.e. Woundale Raise).
