Yet, capitalism is failing around the world as it has entered the biggest crisis in 100 years.\r\nThere is no possibility of creating full employment, decent public services and an end to poverty unless there is a fundamental break with a system that protects the interests of the rich, the bankers and the elite.\r\nThat's why, while supporting a Yes vote in 2014, the Socialist Party Scotland states clearly and unashamedly;y that only an independent socialist Scotland could offer a way out of the economic crisis, cuts and years of austerity.\r\nPublic ownership and democratic control of our oil, gas, banks and major companies would allow us to redistribute wealth.\r\nThe powers of independence would also allow us to end the anti-trade union laws, increase benefits and pensions and create jobs for the 100.000 young people who are unemployed.\r\nBut it would also require the political will to break with big business and capitalist interests. There is no sign that the SNP leadership will do that - quite the opposite in fact.\r\nThat's why the Socialist Party Scotland stands for a new mass party for working class people. A party that will fight for the powers to be used for us, not to defend the privileges of the millionaires. In short a socialist Scotland.\r\n\r\n- End cuts and austerity - Make the rich 1% and big business pay for their crisis \r\n- Build a new mass working class party that will stand up for the 99%\r\n\r\nSocialist Party Scotland members play a leading role in the public sector unions including PCS, Unison as well as the Youth Fight for Jobs campaign and the Scottish Anti-Cut Coalition.
