Let's look at some hard facts.\r\n\r\nSuccessive Westminster governments have made us the 4th most unequal society in the developed world. And we are on course to become the most unequal.\r\n\r\nWestminster cuts are pushing more and more people into financial hardship with welfare changes alone hitting 1 million families. Because of austerity, tens of thousands of Scots are left without jobs.\r\n\r\nThe evidence of the past 30 years tells us that the Westminster way of alternating Labour and Tory government will not create the fairer and more caring Scotland we seek.\r\n\r\nScotland needs a new approach so that wealth and opportunity can be shared more widely. \r\n\r\nInequality. The facts.\r\n\r\nResearchers at Sheffield University have found that the health inequality gap in Britain is greater now that it was during the post-World War I slump and the Great Depression.\r\n\r\nWelfare changes are hitting 700,000 working Scots, while the tax rate for a very few high earners is falling.\r\n\r\nAnd income inequality is on the raise. That means you are almost certainly earing less than you should. You are probably feeling the financial squeeze at the end of the month and your savings or pension pot are smaller than they ought to be.\r\n\r\nBecause we live in such a unequal Britain, you, your family and your neighbours are getting less reward for your hard work.\r\n\r\nThe politicians who make the case for Westminster might claim we are better together, but they are part of the system that is failing people across Scotland. They are part of the problem.\r\n\r\nWe say there is a better way. \r\nIf you agree, join us and say Yes.\r\n\r\nHOW MPs VOTED ON THE BENEFITS CUT\r\n\r\n11\r\n46\r\nSCOTLAND'S MPs\r\n\r\n268\r\n324\r\nWESTMINSTER \r\n\r\nVOTED IN FAVOUR OF THE CUT \r\nVOTED AGAINST THE CUT\r\n\r\nA choice between two futures.\r\n\r\nWhich do you think is best for Scotland?\r\n\r\nWestminster's unwelcome changes to Scottish society? Or choosing a new and better direction as an independent nation?\r\n\r\nThere are the choices you'll be asked to make in the 2014 Referendum for an independent Scotland. We have the opportunity to take a different path.\r\n\r\nWe can begin to build a society that better reflects Scotland's shared values and priorities.\r\n\r\nYes Scotland is the campaign for a Yes vote. Over the coming months we will be giving you the chance to reflect on where Scotland is today, and what steps we need to take to create a better Scotland for the people who live here.\r\n\r\nCould Scotland be fairer? Could we be more prosperous? Could we be greener? Could we have our own voice in the world? There is a lot to think about between now and the referendum.\r\n\r\nIt's Scotland's future. Whose hands do you think it should be in?\r\n\r\nDo you have any questions about what a Yes vote in 2014 could mean for you?\r\n\r\nOnline: YesScotland.net/thinkaboutit\r\nEmail: info@YesScotland.net\r\nVisit: Yes Scotland, 136 Hope Street, Glasgow G2 2TG\r\nTelephone: 0141 221 4767\r\n\r\nIf you would like to get involved in the 'Yes' campaign.\r\n\r\nJoin In: YesScotland.net/imvotingyes\r\nShop: YesScotlandstore.net\r\nDonate: YesScotland.net/donate\r\nJoin: YesScotland.net/volunteer \r\n\r\nScotland's future in Scotland's hands.\r\n\r\nYes Scotland 2014\r\n\r\nYesScotland.net \r\n\r\n@YesScotland \r\n\r\n/YesScotland \r\n\r\nYES TO A JUST SCOTLAND \r\n\r\nThe UK is the 4th most unequal country in the developed world.\r\n\r\nStill think we're 'better together'?\r\n\r\nPromoted by Yes Scotland, 136 Hope Street, Glasgow G2 2TG and printed by MLG, 170 Elliot Street, Glasgow G3 8EX\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n"}}]
