We have so much going for us economically yet the benefit is not felt by you in the way it should be. That's because doing what is best for Scotland will never be Westminster's priority.\r\nA few powerful facts to illustrate our point:\r\nBetween 1970 and 2014 SCOTLAND WILL HAVE HAD TORY-LED GOVERNMENTS WE DIDN'T VOTE FOR IN 26 OUT OF 44 YEARS.\r\nDESPITE SCOTLAND HAVING ONLY 1 CONSERVATIVE MP OUT OF 59 SCOTTISH MPs, we have a Tory-led government because of the 305 Tory MPs elected elsewhere.\r\nSCOTLAND'S 59 MPs CAN ALWAYS BE OUTVOTED IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS by the 591 MPs from elsewhere in the UK\r\nWestminster controls the taxes you pay. It is in charge of the economy and employment. It can decide our immigration rules and is changing our welfare system. We believe Scotland's future should be in Scotland's hands. Only then would we have governments that put the people of Scotland first.\r\nScotland opposes Westminster imposes.\r\nToday we lose out because of Westminster decisions, as some recent votes show;\r\n76% OF SCOTTISH MPs VOTED AGAINST MORE AUSTERITY CUTS - BUT THEY ARE GOING AHEAD, at the cost of thousands of jobs across Scotland.\r\n82% OF SCOTTISH MPs VOTED AGAINST HIGHER VAT - BUT VAT WENT UP and as a result most things you buy in the shops cost more.\r\n81% OF SCOTTISH MPs VOTED AGAINST THE WELFARE CUTS - BUT THE WELFARE CUTS WENT AHEAD hitting the incomes of 1 million Scottish families.\r\n91% OF SCOTTISH MPs VOTED AGAINST THE BEDROOM TAX - but the bedroom tax is now costing thousands of families in Scotland an average \u00a311 a week.\r\nTime after time, the policies we reject are taken forward in crucial areas - from the poll tax in the past to the bedroom tax and austerity cuts today. Westminster isn't working for Scotland. It's been taking us in the wrong direction for too many years. That's why we need independence\r\nImagine a future where all decisions are taken by the people who care most about Scotland.\r\nA choice between two futures.\r\nWhich do you think is best for Scotland?\r\nA future with Westminster's unwelcome policies being imposed on Scotland?\r\nA future with a new and better direction as an independent nation?\r\nThis is the choice you'll be able to make in the 2014 Referendum for an independent Scotland.\r\nWe have the opportunity to take a different path. We can begin to build a society that better reflects Scotland's priorities.\r\nYes Scotland is the campaign for a Yes vote. Over the coming months we will be giving the chance to reflect on where Scotland is today, and what steps we need to take to create a better Scotland for the people who live here.\r\nCould Scotland be fairer? Could we be more prosperous? Could we be greener? Could we have our own voice in the world? There is a lot to think about between \r\nnow and the referendum.\r\nIt's Scotland's future. Whose hands do you think it should be in?\r\nDo you have any questions about what a Yes vote in 2014 could mean for you?\r\nOnline: Yes Scotland.net/thinkaboutit\r\nEmail: info@YesScotland.net\r\nVisit: Yes Scotland, 136 Hope Street, Glasgow G2 2TG\r\nTelephone: 0141 221 4767\r\nIf you would like to get involved in the 'Yes' campaign.\r\nJoin In: YesScotland.net/imvotingyes\r\nShop: shop.YesScotland.net\r\nDonate: YesScotland.net/donate\r\nJoin: YesScotland.net/volunteer\r\nScotland's future in Scotland's hands.\r\nYes Scotland 2014\r\nYesScotland.net\r\n@YesScotland\r\n@Yes Scotland\r\n"}}]
