Keep the UK pound\r\nThe UK pound has been an immensely successful currency. It has been a source of economic stability and security for Scots for centuries. The only way to be sure of keeping the pound is to stay in the United Kingdom.\r\n\r\n2. Keep our single UK market\r\nAs part of the United Kingdom, Scottish businesses have access to a domestic market of 63 million people. Under independence, our domestic market would shrink to just 5.3 million people. Scotland exports twice as much to the rest of the UK as we do the rest of the world combined, so our single UK market is vital to Scottish businesses and Scottish jobs.\r\n\r\n3. Keep our economy strong\r\nWe have the best of both worlds;a powerful Scotland backed up by the broad shoulders of the UK. The economy is on the mend and we need certainty to help it get back to full speed. Oil boosts our wealth but it can't pay for everything and the size and strength of the UK means we can share risk and resources. Breaking that up risks higher tax bills, deeper spending cuts, and a more expensive mortgage.\r\n\r\n4. Keep our UK armed forces\r\nAs part of the United Kingdom, Scotland is defended by the most professional armed forces in the world. Defence spending across the UK last year was over L34 billion and the UK is the fourth biggest military spender in the world. It means the UK is able to maintain world-class armed forces and equipment.\r\n\r\n"}}]
