Alistair Darling and his Tory cohorts would have us believe that this referendum is all about Salmond and the SNP, clearly ignoring the aspirations of Scottish workers determined to put an end to the vile attacks of consecutive UK governments united in their neo-liberal agendas. Scotland has:\r\n8.4 of the UK population.\r\nWe contribute 9.6 of all UK taxes.\r\nWe get back 9.3 of these taxes.\r\nOECD figures show that an Independent Scotland would be the 8th richest in the world. The UK is currently 17th. So there is now no argument over whether or not Scotland can afford to be independent. The only questions is should we be? Far more important than the figures above is the figure that shows that the UK is now the most unequal country in the developed world. The gap between rich and poor has risen consistently over the last 30 years. \r\nThe polls are showing that the YES vote has now overtaken the NO vote in the working class areas of the country. With just under 1m people living in poverty it's time for the people of Scotland to take control of our own destiny.\r\nVOTE YES ON SEPTEMBER 18TH\r\nAre you registered to vote?\r\nIf not the please do so now by contacting the electoral registration office on: 0131 344 2500"}}]
