We are a group of local people who believe that Scotland will be a better country if the people who live here decide its future. We are a broad based campaign made up of people from all parties and none. \r\nIndependence means the right to choose what sort of society we want. What life looks like after independence will depend on who you vote for.\r\nBut we know Scotland can be a more prosperous and fairer country. \r\nAn independent Scotland would be the 14th richest country in the world. \r\nOn average we pay \u00a31200 more taxes per head every year than the rest of the UK - yet most of that money is not spent in Scotland\r\nScotland has a healthy economy, not just oil and gas, but renewable energy, water, life sciences, food and drink, tourism and finance. \r\nWe could divert money from unwanted nuclear missiles and foreign wars into vital public services.\r\nEdinburgh will get a huge jobs boost as many businesses and governments will set up bases here.\r\nFar from being unable to make it our own - we could actually afford better pensions and better public services. But don't take our word for it. The international agency Standard and Poors reported in February that an independent Scotland should have triple AAA credit status. \r\nwww.yesscotland.net yesedinsouth @yes_edin_south 0131 618 6183 "}}]
