We were set up in November 2012 to join the diverse groups of the left who are campaigning for a republican, independent socialist Scotland. We have no wish to replace other organisations - you may be a member of other parties or organisations as long as you are committed to independence and socialism.\r\nWe believe that the organised trade unions have a very important role to play in Scotland's future as they have had in its past. We would like to see trade unions enjoy full rights in an independent Scotland unfettered by anti-trade union legislation. We would like to see a strengthened STUC which could bring together independent trade unions in a powerful alliance of Scottish workers to play an important role in developing Scotland's vision, workplace ethos, legislation and economy. \r\nWe support the Scottish National Party's call for the removal of the murderous Trident missile system from Scottish waters. This would be the single most important achievement of independence and contribution to world peace. We do not believe that NATO and its imperialist allies will relinquish this without a tough struggle and we must be prepared to unite and rally to defend this goal.\r\nWe have a vision of an independent Scotland with a strengthened and well supported public sector, free education, health and social care at the point of need. \r\nWe believe we can build a productive economy around renewable energy, biotechnology, innovation, ship-building and the artistic creativity that has characterised Scotland's Enlightenment ideas around the world.\r\nWe would like to see development and support for small local businesses, cooperatives and worker-owned enterprises.\r\nStrict control and a legislative framework for multi-nationals wishing to set up innovative developments in Scotland are essential. We must ensure that communities benefit at all times with living wage arrangements and trade union organisation. \r\nHelp us begin the campaign to mould a socialist republican Scotland! "}}]
