This project is an application for the crowd-sourcing of data from archival cards that have been generated from the Egypt Exploration Society's excavations at Abydos (Tomb cards cemetery R). Each card contains structured data relating to each tomb recorded, and these data are what we would like you to transcribe. However, there is a degree of variance between the cards and some may be the reverse of an existing record. The hand writing on these cards may also prove to be quite challenging.

Cards have various guises. Over the next few pages of this tutorial are some examples.

Therefore there are a variety of fields that could be completed:

1. Excavator's or finder's name
2. Date of discovery
3. Record number
4. Descriptive data
5. Whether the card maybe a reverse
