This project is an application for the crowd-sourcing of data from archival cards that
have been generated from the Egypt Exploration Society's Sesebi digging season 1936 - 37. Each card
contains very structured data relating to each object recorded, and these data are what we would
like you to transcribe.
Therefore the field list we would like is as follows:
- Season number
- Description
- Date of record
- Site code
- Card number
- Scale
- Distribution/ Museum sent to
- Provenance
- Number in red crayon
- Your comments
In the provenance field, you will often see the word 'Redim'. The word "redime" is a (somewhat
mis-spelled) word for "fill" in Arabic, and was a term used by Emery on his excavations.
To be precise, the verb is "radama" (to fill with earth). So best to transcribe as "redime" for now!
Finally, you may have comments on the index card, if you do, please fill in the final box and then submit
your contribution. Thank you for taking part.
